Day 3

– Demonstrate His Love

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8, NKJV

Reflect: As followers of Christ, one of the most important indicators to those around us is our capacity to love. Jesus, as he was being led to the cross, was betrayed, ridiculed, spit on, and beaten; yet chose the cross to redeem us back into a relationship with God. His decision to redeem us was based on His love for us, not our actions.  Love is a byproduct of knowing God and growing in intimacy in your relationship with Him. In the same way that Jesus demonstrated God’s love for mankind on the cross, we are called to demonstrate God’s love in this life.

Bob Jones was a minister that had a death experience in 1975. Bob shared that before he was revived God asked him one simple question “did you learn to love?” This question should resound in our hearts as believers.

Action: Meditate on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and allow God to speak to you about your true nature. You are a new creation and God’s love has been shed abroad in your heart.
