– Bear Much fruit / Third Pillar of Discipleship
“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”
John 15:8 NKJV
Reflect: When Jesus was on this earth, he taught us that the kingdom operates similarly to a seed. In order to bear fruit or harvest something tangible in our lives we need to first start with planting. It would be foolish for a farmer to expect produce without the labor of prepping the land and caring for plants as the maturing process takes place. In this same way, what we read, whom we surround ourselves with, and the condition of our hearts will all determine the quality of the fruit we bear. We are not just called to bear fruit – we are called to bear MUCH fruit. As we mature in the discipleship process, we should be able to look at our lives and see evidence that we are Christ followers.
Action: Meditate on Matthew 13:31-32. What has God developed in your life that has become a landing place for the birds to come and perch?
